Nourish, relax deeply, and let your imagination run wild.

We have an incredibly special Restorative Yoga treat for you! Join Nora Benian for a traditional Restorative practice, with a creative twist. Instead of focusing on the breath during your poses, we’re going to find deep rest and relaxation by embracing our inner child and escaping into a story!

Throughout the class, a story will be told to you, written by the lovely Mackenzie Belcastro and told by our very own Brittany Turner, as you rest in your postures. There will be gentle instrumental music playing softly in the background, and if you find your mind wandering, simply come back to the words of the story, re-immersing yourself into the adventure being told. All you have to do is listen.

To sign up, please call 416-925-7206 or sign up on our website.

What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative Yoga will deeply restore the body, by calming the mind and the central nervous system. This form of yoga will help you feel energized when you’re feeling low and in need of grounding. Practicing Restorative Yoga will assist in boosting your immune system and increasing flexibility. This class will leave you feeling nourished, rested and deeply relaxed. A must for those living and working in the constant hustle of Toronto!

Teaser of the Story:
Scarlet has been born with a gift that neither of her parents can explain; whenever she desires an object, it instantly jumps from its place in her imagination to the real world before her. Like most things, this gift is double-edged. At once, it is the rope that pulls her family out from the pit of poverty in which we first find them, and yet cuts off any chance Scarlet may have otherwise had to lead a "normal life."

With her parents urging her to keep this ability to imagine into reality a secret, Scarlet grows up believing that there is a difference between what she should allow the world to see of her, and what she ought not. In this way, a well-crafted image becomes of utmost importance to her. The process of creating the perfect veneer, Scarlet determines, comes with a set of duties: throwing balls, ornamenting herself with precious jewels, dressing in sumptuous garments, and blocking out the rest of the world. Failing to uphold any of these is not an option, for that may permit the dreaded consequence to rear its ugly head. That is, others may catch sight of the half-magic girl she really is.

On her eighteenth birthday, while preparing for her ball, her room begins to shrink violently. Unsure of what’s happening, or why, she becomes terrified of being crushed to death. Calling out for help, a small blue fairy appears and this is where her adventures begin. Elle, the fairy, whisks her off to the magical land of Preytarrytum, for it is only there that she may find the solution to this obscure problem…
