Teaching Labs Workshop | A Comparative Approach towards Teaching & Learning: Women in Recent Art History in Asia
Date & Time: Sat, 14 Apr, 2pm-4:30pm
Venue: A Space, Asia Art Archive (10/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan)

Wendy Tai, a visual art educator in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), collaborates with AAA in this teacher workshop. To prompt a discussion on contemporary art, the workshop discusses two important components of the IBDP curriculum, namely the cultural significance and the function of artworks.

As part of this year's Teaching Labs Talks about women in recent art history, the workshop addresses this theme in the contexts of Hong Kong, China, and India. Participants gain hands-on experience with AAA’s Collection through comparative research, analysing artworks of teh same theme from different contexts. To encourage collaborative learning, research findings will be shared on AAA's Educator Resources platform. While the workshop is particularly relevant for teachers of the Comparative Study component of IBDP Visual Art, the learning objectives and outcomes are equally applicable to all levels of art education.
