It is hard to find opportunities for healthy socialization for dogs; especially as an Alaskan. It's cold, it's dark, there aren’t many dog parks, and they can be sparsely populated.. I provide an opportunity for handlers and their dogs to participate in guided group hikes. This is an activity for socially skilled and unskilled animals alike, to exercise and socialize in a manageable but challenging environment. All dogs will remain leashed on the hikes, and the group will practice parallel walking to limit the risk and difficulty level for the teams. The activity will be overseen by Ellis who will be available to answer questions, offer advice and assist in managing the dogs. Handlers must be physically capable of managing their dog. Warm clothing and crampons are encouraged. All participants will be required to sign a waiver before the hike. Please one dog per handler.
Please remember to RSVP, $20/handler-dog team cash or check, and please leave your dog in your car until Ellis give the OK to get them out. Please dress appropriately. I have also attached a map for those who may be new and not know where this park is. Thank you and hope to see you there.
