SPRING WRITING COMPETITION

Fancy yourself as the next JK Rowling? Reckon you could pen the next Harry Potter? Put your writing skills to the test.

We are inviting budding young writers from Aberdeen and area aged 7-15 years old to pen a new festive classic that uses winter as the key theme. This could be in the form of either a short story or poem (no more than 200 words).

Theme - ‘New Beginnings’

For our younger 4 – 6 year old creative minds we have a Art Competition where we invite them to create an image for one of their favourite stories.

There will be 4 categories: 4-6 (Art competition), 7-9, 10-12 and 13 – 15 year olds.
The competition will be judged by local avid readers here in town. The very best entries will be published in a special free to download e-book.

What’s more, the winner from each category will receive $40 gift card to spend on books or writing equipment. Two runners up, from each category, will each receive $30 for 2nd place and $20 for 3rd place.

So get your thinking cap on, and get scribbling! Good luck!

Closing date for entries is 7pm Thursday 26th April 2018.
