What you Learn
Buoyancy is the most fundamental skill in scuba diving: those who have mastered it stand apart, and once learnt, you can enjoy the activity you do fully whilst using less air and moving through the water effortlessly.
In our pool clinics, AOS Instructional Staff will work with you on all aspects of buoyancy, including:
- Proper weighting
- Weight distribution, tailored to you
- Your trim and positioning in the water
- Breath control
- Propulsion techniques
- How your suit affects your buoyancy, e.g. drysuit/ 7mm/ 3mm
- Buoyancy practice with a dry suit
Is this course for me?
This course is fantastic for you if you're looking to keep your buoyancy skills ticking over winter, looking to master buoyancy in a new dry suit, going away soon and needing a quick refresher, or if you would like to work on mastering your buoyancy in general. To take the Buoyancy Clinics, you must:
- Have a Scuba Diver certification
- Be at least 12 years old
Buoyancy Clinics are $50 for a two hour session, excluding gear hire.
Special gear hire price applies for divers who are renting just for the session:
$10 for the tank, $15 for the BCD, $15 for the regs, $5 for the weights
