ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Stephanie R. Simon, LCSW, NCPsyA, CCS, DRCC has a long career in the health field. She began her career path working as an occupational therapist at the inpatient psychiatric unit at St. Vincent’s Hospital in NYC. After receiving her MSW and LCSW, she spent ten years at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center where she worked in various departments including: the Prenatal Clinic; the Ryan White Program with HIV/AIDS patients; the Termination of Pregnancy Clinic; and Outpatient Behavioral Health. She spent the next fifteen years of her career at Christ Hospital in Jersey City where she eventually served as the Assistant Director, and then Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. In August 2013 she began working for Bridgeway Rehabiliation Services as Director of a new state-funded program that provides statewide urgent care on a daily basis for those experiencing a mental health crisis or a worsening pre-existing mental health or co-occurring disorder. Ms. Simon has many years of experience in supervising staff and managing complex systems. She believes that her post-graduate training at ACAP and becoming a certified psychoanalyst is what has allowed her to develop the skills needed to become an effective Administrator. Ms. Simon presently maintains a small psychoanalytic practice.
