In the last 10 years there has been significant developments in the way trauma is clinically assessed and treated. The field of trauma has evolved, yet there is still so much we have to learn.
This training will provide a historical overview of the origins of trauma treatment, common perceptions, and the current statistics in the field. We will explore the behavioral and biological symptoms associated with traumatic stress and experiences in order to view trauma from varying perspectives. Through evaluation of the DSM 5 trauma and stress related disorders, you will be able to identify criteria for diagnosis. Current evidenced-based treatment modalities and clinical interventions will be reviewed for practical application.
This training is for clinical and human service professionals interested in learning more about the field of traumatology, treatment applications, and clinical interventions to enhance how you assess trauma experience. Improved assessment will lead to more effective treatment.
