The Survivor and the Liberator
Ernie Gross, a young survivor, and Don Greenbaum, an American soldier in Patton's Army, spent one day together, April 29, 1945, when the Dachau concentration camp was liberated. Although they did not meet that day, they shared the historic experience of that moment from different perspectives. Over 60 years later the two Philadelphia area residents connected when Ernie read about Don in the newspaper. Now friends, the two share their inspiring stories to ensure that the world never forgets.
