Event organized by AEGEE-Helsinki

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

Is your Monday lacking some important thinking and intellectual talking? And are you worrying about climate change and want to know more or maybe just feel like discussing the subject? That’s at least how AEGEE-Helsinki feels!

Climate change is one of the most severe and alarming problems that the world faces today and we here in AEGEE think that it is important to keep discussing the matter and spreading our knowledge, optimism and fighting spirit! There is a lot that can be done through legislation and institutions but it is us as individuals who are the driving force! Every opinion matters, the more we know the better, so let's do this!

Come and watch the documentary “Before the Flood” from 2016 (it’s the one with DiCaprio <3) at our headquarters on the 9th of April, the event starts at 18.30 and we'll start the documentary at 19.00! Afterwards we are going to have a discussion together about the subjects that came up, what it made us think about, what we can do as individuals and what has changed since the documentary came out. So bring some snacks, maybe something to drink and activate that big brain of yours! The event is free and everyone is welcome!

WHEN: 09.04.2018, at 18.30

WHAT: Think and Talk! Watching “Before the Flood (2016)”

Short introduction to the movie:
Before the Flood, presented by National Geographic, features Leonardo DiCaprio on a journey as a United Nations Messenger of Peace, traveling to five continents and the Arctic to witness climate change first-hand. He goes on expeditions with scientists uncovering the reality of climate change and meets with political leaders fighting against inaction. He also discovers a calculated disinformation campaign orchestrated by powerful special interests working to confuse the public about the urgency of the growing climate crisis. With unprecedented access to thought leaders around the world, DiCaprio searches for hope in a rising tide of catastrophic news.
