A note from the trainers, Adrianne Isabel and Denis Krigbaum
Here at Harmony Canine Training we've spent the past few years observing, problem solving, brain storming, molding, and working out the kinks of this essential subject. Thanks to all of the collaboration and practice I think we've finally found a really good balance that benefits everyone from brand new handlers, pet dog homes working on trust and confidence, to UDX & IPO3 clients working on cleaning up ring/field nerves.
In this program we work extensively on engagement as a primary skill. We address handling for optimal communication - when to cue, why, and when to allow the dog to process. We work on drive building while maintaining clarity and focus on team building skills. We will talk about luring and baiting and shaping - when, why, how. We will work on trust building via body skills and environmental confidence - we'll address how these help build stronger teams than many traditional training classes. We will load supplementary cues and begin focus proofing before blending our new foundations into formal obedience exercises.
