The Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce presents the 5th Annual Business of Black Education. Headlining the event will be the well-respected University of Texas at Austin Interim Vice President for Diversity and Community Engagement and the George Littlefield Professor of American History Dr. Leonard N. Moore.
This year's event takes a shift from years prior. The conversation now centers on the business components of black education and factors that encircle and influence the education of black and brown students.
This year's event is more engaging with the addition of the inaugural GABC Collegiate: Pitch STEM Competition powered by Home Depot in partnership with the Austin Area Urban League. The competition allows Central Austin undergraduate students to competitively pitch real-world solutions to universal problems. Utilizing Home Depot products, teams will develop and pitch an innovative idea to a panel of STEM professionals. Top contenders will compete for the $1,500 Judges Choice Award and the $500 Audience Choice Award.
***Admission includes participation in The Final Pitch as well as dinner***
