CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! The Alabama Department of Archives and History is launching the WWI records indexing project and is starting with Wilcox County. They recently finished scanning about 111,000 service records of Alabamians who served in the Army, Navy and Marines in WWI. Using new software developed with financial support by the Friends of the Alabama Archives, volunteers across the state will now be able to index sets of these service records from their home computers.
The indexing event will run from 10-2 on Saturday, April 7 at the Archives. Lunch will be provided to those who can attend. Please RSVP to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org by April 5.
Bring your laptops or use one provided by ADAH!
