When Kenneth Branagh released his version of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING in 1993, he proved that, even after a few hundred years, Shakespeare's words remain vibrantly beautiful and wonderfully compelling. Of course, it helps that these words are uttered by incredibly attractive people like Denzel Washington, Emma Thompson, Robert Sean Leonard and a super young Kate Beckinsdale.
Set against breathtaking scenery, this ensemble powerhouse plays out Shakespeare's comedy of love and mischief with charm, grace and fabulous costumes. It may seem impossible to improve upon this delightful gem, but trust us, movies are always better when you add fancy tea and tantalizing British treats. Brimming with swoon, laughter and deliciousness, this cinematic event is most certainly not much ado about nothing.
