Farewell Control Yourself; The Final Show at Alberta Street Pub
When: Sunday March 25th - two shows 7pm & 9:30pm
Where: Alberta Street Pub
1036 NE Alberta St.
Portland, OR 97211
For four years weekly, JoAnn Schinderle (Voted Portland’s Funniest Person ‘17, Audible, SF Sketchfest) has created & hosted the most consistently packed & laughter driven comedy showcase in town, basically earning herself a bachelor's degree in hosting badassery. Alas, in true Portland fashion, ‘all good things must come to an end’. Sunday March 25th, Control Yourself will close it’s curtains. Be a part of this magic as we say farewell to one of the greatest community supported comedy showcases in town.
Control Yourself has not only been a coveted showcase for local comics to shine their talents, but also for traveling comics to get a taste of how to crack open PDX audiences. In the 219+ shows, banger guests such as, Fred Armisen, Baron Vaughn, Sara Schaefer, Guy Branum, and local heros like Ian Karmel and Shane Torres have made it a point to drop in for a late Sunday night set.
Since its birth in 2014, Control Yourself has been listed as a ‘top showcase to watch’ yearly by local papers. Due to it’s insane popularity, the likes of Bridgetown & All Jane have included CY on their festival line ups. If you’ve never experienced the electric magic inside those Alberta Street Pub walls (and honestly, you’re missing out) , you can listen to live recorded showcases on Soundcloud, iTunes, or the Rivercity Podcast Federation.
Sunday March 25th will have two opportunities to give this staple comedy showcase the send off it deserves. 7pm & 9:30pm start times, limited seating available only, $12. Check the facebook event for listing of the amazing comics on each show. SUNDAY MARCH 25, 7PM & 9:30PM, $12, ALBERTA STREET PUB
