You have some proposal writing experience, but what now? How do you improve your skills and do even more to earn grants for your agency? This workshop will help answer those questions, and will provide you with advanced tips on gathering data for proposals and grant reports.

You’ll learn how to implement systems that will help you get ahead of grant deadlines and build evaluation mechanisms that will make your organization stronger and more grant-worthy. This workshop includes different lessons than ABN’s Grant Writing Fundamentals class and is for those who have some experience writing grant proposals.

*This workshop is for those with some grant writing experience or who have taken Grant Writing Fundamentals as a prerequisite.

Learning Objectives Include:
-Demonstrate knowledge to immediately improve your grant writing
-Apply confidence and skills to gather and analyze data
-Implement a smoother, more effective grant writing process at your organization
-Explain awareness of the role that a grant writer can play to not only raise more funds, but to also increase organizational effectiveness

ABN Fund Development Certificate:
This workshop counts as 3 credits towards the ABN Fund Development Certificate. To receive this certificate, a participant must earn 18 credits (six qualifying courses) within a two-year period. CFRE Credits:
Full participation in Advanced Grant Writing is applicable for 3 points in Category 1.B – Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or re-certification. For more information about the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential visit www.cfre.org.

This course is intended for advanced professionals with 5 or more years’ experience in the topic. Please keep in mind, the levels are simply a guideline. Please contact Chloe Perry at cperry@betternonprofits.org for specific questions about the level of this course.

Mark Goldstein, CFRE, is President and CEO of Communication Mark consulting in Arden, NC. Mark is one of the most sought-after proposal writers and project strategists in the region. He is the creator of the Open Communication Fundraising Model, a system enabling all nonprofit agency stakeholders to effectively work together toward organizational and fundraising goals.

Mark has served nonprofits in some capacity since 1991, including as a staff member, board member, and consultant. He has raised millions of dollars for his clients and employers by obtaining grants for organizations of all types, sizes, and locales, particularly for health, human service, community development and technology needs.

He is currently on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Western North Carolina Chapter and has provided training sessions through the Duke University Continuing Studies Nonprofit Management program, Philanthropy Journal, Nonprofit Webinars and other venues.
