Come and join us for a free screening organized by Africa in Motion (AiM) film festival at the Alliance Française Glasgow!

The programme highlights two Tunisian debut films including a short and a feature:

🎥 L'Ambouba (2009, 9m) made by Nadia Rais is a visually stunning short animation film that challenges temporal and spacial landmarks.

🎥 As I Open My Eyes (2015, 1h42), directed by the talented Leyla Bouzid is set in Tunis before the 2010 Jasmine Revolution. Inspired by true events, this innovative award-winning* feature follows the journey of Farah, a headstrong young woman in her thirst for emancipation and freedom. Shot in 2014, the film skilfully gives a sensitive and corrosive insight into the implications of conservatism on the individuals on the eve of the Arab spring.

(In Arabic and French with English subtitles, PG 15)
*Venice Film Festival, Carthage FF and Dubai FF (2015)

A glass of wine will be offered before the screening.
