AMRAPALI (65 minutes) : Written by V. Balakrishnan and performed by Janani Narasimhan. It is the story of the famous courtesan, who was sold to the country for public entertainment but attained peace for her existence under Buddha by becoming a monk. It premiered in Chennai and has travelled with the Soorya Festival to Pallakad, Thrissur and Trivandrum.

GALLANTLY FOUGHT THE QUEEN (65 minutes) : Written by V. Balakrishnan and performed by Meera Sitaraman. The play is in English with Hindi songs, and narrates the story of Rani of Jhansi, not with the glorified touch of history textbooks, but with the humaneness of her strife and struggles to exist as a strong woman in a colonial and patriarchal world.
