Join Myriam for an hour of Ashtanga practice every Wednesday night 7:00-8:00pm starting May 2.

This hour of practice will be based on the primary series of traditional Ashtanga yoga practice.

In the first six classes we will be breaking down the following:
- Standing sequence
- Primary series
- Closing sequence
- Modifications and use of props
- Breathing method
- Physics of flight
- Bandhas

This class is appropriate for every curious and every serious student looking to build an intense yoga practice for the body, mind and soul. No previous experience necessary.

Ashtanga Yoga (The eight limbs of yoga)
Ashta = Eight
Anga = Limb
Yoga = Union

Through regulation of practice, the eight limbs are nourished. Personal insights begin to manifest. We become aware of what we put in our bodies and how we interact with the world around us.

The eight limbs of yoga:
Yama - Ethical disciplines
Niyama - Self observation
Asana - Posture
Pranayama - Breath control
Pratyahara - Sense withdrawal
Dharana - Concentration
Dhyana - Meditation
Samadhi - A state of joy and peace
