Popular New Rochelle bassist Rocky Middleton returns to Alvin & Friends. Rocky Middleton began playing acoustic bass at the age of 21 years old. Growing up in Mount Vernon, he was surrounded by various forms of inspiration, everything from listening to gospel, jazz, and R&B to attending live performances. Rocky honed his skills at the Jazz Mobile workshop in Harlem, New York, and studied under the greats (Richard Davis and Lyle Atkinson, as well as tenor saxophonists Jimmy Heath, Clifford Jordan, and Norman Simmons). Rocky has traveled around the US and worldwide with musicians including Frank Foster, Charlie Persip, Alvin Queen, Tommy Turrentine, Walter Perkins, Norman Simmons, Bucky Pizzarelli and many more. He also performed as an ambassador of music in Africa and Europe for the U.S. and French State Departments.
