Collaborate, Krakow and Ambasada Krakowian will host the first live session: Moving “beyond GDP” - Transforming economies that generate wellbeing for all. Guest Kate Raworth, a “renegade economist” will share her Doughnut Economics framework and discuss the economic mindset needed to address the 21st century’s social and ecological challenges.
The session is being livestreamed from the Presencing Institute located in Boston, Massachusetts.
"It is easier to imagine the end of the world, than the end of capitalism"
This statement, often attributed to Frederic Jameson, captures a feeling that many people share: that despite our best efforts to change it, the design and structure of capitalism is beyond our sphere of influence. Yet, throughout history, profound social change often seems impossible, right up until the moment it actually happens.
What if the change toward a more inclusive and sustainable society is actually much closer than we realize? What could we do now to help bring it into reality? These are the questions posed by the team at Presencing Insitute. Beginning in April 2018, they curate stories that illustrate where and how change is already happening; connect us to fellow change makers around the world; and provide methods and tools for leading the shift toward a new economy in our own local context.
