What happens when contemporary artists have a look at fashion design, stereotypes on gender and product placement in the fashion industry?

Participants will discover the creations of transdisciplinary artists who work in the borders of science, fashion and body art. We will look at art from the '80s, '90s and 2000's and see how these fields of knowledge constantly challenge and inspire each other. This session will be planned as a visual journey where we will review amazing installations, performances and urban interventions that will inspire the participants to blur the lines between academic, commercial and conceptual fashion.

What does a Prada shop do in the dessert? Why designing sneakers to cross the Mexico-US border? Why doing a model casting in the Guggenheim museum? Sign up to the Meetup and check what artists do when they think fashion, inside out.

Guest speaker will be Giancarlo Pazzanese: “I studied Visual Arts in Santiago, Chile and specialized in print and digital art. After graduating, I worked at FAO as Internet Consultant. In 2003, I relocated to Amsterdam and worked as freelance graphic designer for 7 years. During this time, I started my own design studio, followed a curatorial programme at Cultuur+Ondernemen, organized art exhibitions and worked as Communications Coordinator and Social Media Trainer. In 2014, I joined a publishing company as E-Marketing Team Leader and Digital Project Manager. In May 2017, I decided to continue working for my studio Operating Room as Communications Consultant and started training as Creative Coach”.
