Broadband Oxygen Sensor Diagnostics (EMS1-6)

Seminar Outline:
Our EMS1-6 Seminar is technical and intricate (this is not for the faint hearted). In this training, we cover - Broadband oxygen sensor diagnostics. [Prerequisites: AED]

Some of the interesting content we will cover:
• We look at the effects of O2, A/F (Air/Fuel ratio) sensors and catalytic converter on the behaviour of the car and the emissions.

• Understanding A/F sensor signals (scope and scantool) and how the A/F ratio sensor works electro-chemically together with the circuit of the ECU.

• Full long and short fuel trim knowledge are vital in diagnosing an emission control system. We use an incredibly simple and innovative way to explain short and long fuel trims.

• We learn to analyse through different fueling modes, for example looking at late model Asian vehicles with 5 different stored long fuel trims.

• We examine and diagnose drivability issues where fault codes aren’t present.

• In-depth look into A/F sensor related fault codes on Asian vehicles and each code’s diagnostics.
