During this one-hour community hike, participants will learn about what it means for a plant or animal to be considered ‘invasive.’

We will discuss some of the invasive plants here on the Greenway and different ways they can be managed. We will use our investigative skills to identify some of our common invasive plants with a dichotomous key by observing the plant’s characteristics (i.e. leaf shape, leaf arrangement, leaf color, leaf margins, leaf venation, etc.). Not only will this help you identify invasive species but you will also learn how to use a dichotomous key!

This program is suited for all ages. Please be sure to wear closed-toe shoes. This hike is FREE for Greenway members. $5 entry fee for non-Greenway members.
