#var:page_name# cover

In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Northwestern’s Women’s Center, in co-sponsorship with the African American Studies Department, Black Arts Initiative, CARE, and student org College Feminists invite you to attend a documentary screening and dialogue mini-series centering on race, gender and the struggle for bodily autonomy, featuring film: Birthright: A War Story, and a post-film discussion with the film's screenwriter, Luchina Fisher, and director, Civia Tamarkin.

Birthright: A War Story is a feature-length documentary about the growing crisis in women's reproductive health. The documentary explores the accelerating gains of the crusade to overturn Roe v. Wade and the fallout that is creating a public health crisis at the intersection of race, gender and poverty, turning pregnant women into criminals and challenging the constitutional protections of every woman in America.

We are pleased to host a screening and important panel discussion with the creators.
