A proven antidote to depression and anxiety, Yoga Nidra is an ancient yogic practice that's becoming increasingly popular as both a form of meditation and a mind-body therapy. It is a systematic form of guided relaxation, people say it often brings immediate physical benefits, such as reduced stress and better sleep, and has the potential to heal psychological wounds.
As a meditation practice, it can engender a profound sense of love and joy. Being practiced lying down on a mat, wrapped up in blankets and propped with cushions, it's completely accessible to all abilities and experience.
Structure of the workshop:
30mins Pranayama (breath work) prior to the practice;
50mins blissful meditative deep relaxation, with sounds and vibration of singing bowl;
10mins time to return and get ready for the rest of the evening, with refreshments and herbal tea at the end of the practice.
