This class is for those of you that have at least some embroidery experience and want to (a) add some new stitches to your knowledge and/or (b) brush up on the ones you know. We will do a quick review of stem stitch, french knots, fly stitch, blanket stitch, and any you feel you would like to review.
We will quickly move to additional stitches including the coral stitch, cretan stitch, herringbone, and whipped spider stitch. In addition, we will begin discussion and practice on Satin Stitch (and Long-and-short, time allowing). While this stitch strikes fear into many embroiderers, I have many tips and techniques that will get you on the road to success! And there is no substitute for practice, so get startedd now!
With this group of stitches, you can tackle just about embroidery project out there! During class we will try and talk about different aspects of embroidery – threads, needles, designs, fabrics, and transfer techniques. I’m here to teach and you will be encouraged to tell me what you want to learn.
