Páidí Ó Dubháin, baritone and Manuel Beja Santos, pianoforte.

This performance will include a mixture of songs written by Irish composers in the Irish language, some German lieder, Italian arias and some solo piano pieces. The selection of Irish songs ranges from folk-song arrangements and seán-nós settings to original art song compositions in both the English and the Irish language.
Dr Páidí Ó Dubháin’s extensive repertoire ranges from opera and oratorio to art song and to traditional Irish sean nós. In 2012, Páidí was awarded a place on the NI Opera Young Artist Programme, where he specialised in contemporary opera roles. He is a freelance soloist, regularly performing in Brussels and beyond. He has performed in masterclasses with Graham Johnson, Kiri Te Kanawa and Emma Kirkby.
Manuel Beja Santos was awarded a scholarship to study at the Trinity Laban Conservatory of Music and Dance, with internationally renowned pianists Mikhail Kazakevich and Hillary Coates. Whilst at Trinity, he regularly performed across the UK, as well as winning several solo and chamber competitions and taking part in numerous educational and multi-disciplinary projects. Whilst at Trinity, he had the chance to work with some of the finest pianists of a generation, such Boris Berman, Martino Tirimo, Paul BaduraSkoda and Angela Hewitt. After Graduating, Manuel went on to finish his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, in the class of Serbian pianist Aleksandar Madžar and joined the Bell’Arte foundation, to work with renowned pedagogue Nelson Delle-Vigne.
