TARNANTHI is in full swing at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Join us to tour the exhibition, take part in a weaving demonstration and relax to the sounds of local musicians Kahl Wallis and Nancy Bates, this Friday night.

GUIDED TOURS
Take a tour with one of our dedicated Gallery Guides and learn more about selected works of art in TARNANTHI.
AUSLAN INTERPRETED TOUR – 5pm
The 5pm tour of TARNANTHI will be accompanied by an accredited Auslan interpreter for deaf and hearing-impaired visitors.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: Nancy Bates
Described by Archie Roach as 'one of the finest singer-songwriters in this country', be captivated by Barkindji woman, Nancy Bates as she shares her love, pain and humour through song.
Where: Sculpture Courtyard

QUANDAMOOKA WEAVERS: Reclaiming Country
Join Quandamooka artists Chantal Henley, Libby Harward and Donna Page in a culturally rich weaving demonstration that embraces the journey to reclaim and maintain weaving traditions. Through a collective practice which includes textiles, fashion history, aerosol and sculpture, the Quandamooka Weavers aim to reclaim the importance of country, language and family. Showcasing a strong cultural identity using traditional techniques, and demonstrating the vitally that connects customary methods with modern resources.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE: Kahl Wallis
Take in the powerful voice of Kahl Wallis and experience his raw and authentic acoustic music which speaks to the core values of humanity and to his cultural roots. Wallis identifies with his grandfather’s country, the Wuthathi Nation from Shelburne Bay in Cape York Peninsula, and his Grandmothers mob, the Lardil people from Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria. He takes his last name 'Wallis' from his great-great-grandfather of the Polynesian islands of Wallis and Futuna.

ART GALLERY FOOD + WINE
Enjoy a light supper or share a plate and sit back with cold beverage while taking in the atmosphere and hospitality of AGF+W.
