An introduction to kundalini yoga: In this workshop, experience the typical structure of a kundalini class while also learning ways that the practice is distinct from other forms of yoga. At the center of a typical class is a "kriya," which is a sequence of movement, breath practice (pranayama), sound (mantra) and/or meditation. Each kriya guides energies of the body or mind in particular ways for specific benefits related to physical health, refined consciousness, or energetic balance. The workshop will include a sampling of kriyas as well as an overview of kundalini yoga history and technology.
