ART on 5th is excited to announce an exhibition of new work by Austin artist Jason Eatherly. Widely recognized in the local street art scene for his image of a queen wearing a painter's respirator mask, Eatherly is expanding his work to the fine art world.
Opening Reception with the Artist: Saturday, May 12th 7-9pm
During the first weekend of the WEST Austin Studio Tour!
Eatherly is heavily influenced by urban decay, abandoned structures, and weathered environments where nature is reasserting its dominance. This solo exhibition will feature never-before-seen paintings, sculptures, and art installations in which found objects from these lost spaces are allowed to infringe upon and disrupt the gallery space. By transforming salvaged materials and elevating them into works of art, the viewer is challenged to see past surface erosion to the beauty underneath.
This exhibition will be on display through Sunday, June 10th
