This hands-on workshop introduces participants to making monoprints using a Gelli plate and Speedball water soluble block inks. The Gelli printing plate is made of a gel-like substance with a sensitive surface that invites endless experimentation and reuse. Prints are hand pulled without the need of a press. No previous printing or painting experience is required to have fun with the Gelli plate!

All materials will be provided, including paper, Speedball water soluble block inks, brayers, and a 5x7 inch Gelli plate for each participant. As part of the materials fee, participants keep the reusable Gelli plate for use after the workshop.*

About the Instructor:

Her most recent exhibits have been at Art Works Downtown in San Rafael. She has taught adult classes for over twenty-five years and has a solid background in how to convey a variety of subject matter to a wide-range of learners with humor, patience, and organization.

*If you already have a 5x7 Gelli plate and want to bring it to class to use, $15 will be deducted from your materials fee, leaving a balance of $10.
