Plein Air Immersion | May: Friday 18th, Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th | 10am-4:30pm | $400 + Tax | Santa Fe.
Come experience the joy of painting En Plein Air, painting in the open air. This 3-day intensive will cover fundamentals of plein-air painting, such as equipment, setup, tools and techniques for painting on location. Utilizing the Stedham Method of non toxic oil painting students will learn to render scenes with speed and accuracy. Students will have an opportunity to paint from a variety of subjects of interest, i.e. historic buildings, industrial setting, mountain scares, clouds, etc. Each day of the intensive will begin in the Artisan studio and then move as a group to a different outdoor painting venue (with facilities) such as historic Canyon Road, the Railyard and nature center/hiking area. There will be a short walk between the parking lot and painting spot on location. We will host our final session back in the Artisan studio for a lively afternoon of Q & A, critiques, demos and loads of opportunities for learning secrets to successful plein air painting as practiced by seasoned professionals. All levels welcome. If you’ve ever dreamed of painting our famous Santa Fe views and/or painting in the open air don’t miss this chance!
