Our featured artist for the month of April is watercolorist and teacher Sharon Hogan. Come enjoy the art, meet the artist, and have some light refreshments with us!
Hello all! Welcome to my wall of watercolors here at Artists' Edge in Silverdale. Hope you enjoy.
I was an art major back in the 60s in San Jose, California. But marriage, a child, and a job pulled me away from my art for many years. In 1998, I took a watercolor class (always my favorite media) with the Adult Education Program of Sunnyvale/Cupertino, California and a new journey began. I taught one, then two classes at night after my "day" job as a manager with a small public agency. After retiring from that job, I began teaching two more watercolor classes and continued until I made the move here to Washington.
After moving to Bremerton, I lucked out when I happened upon Art SLAM Studio here in Silverdale. I joined, met a group of very talented and creative people, became a House Artist, and am now co-teaching a class there. In fact, I invite you to come visit the Studio; we're right by Michael's and the Dollar Store. There's lots of beautiful painting and objects d'art to see!
I love the process of creating and the continued learning that accompanies the artistic creation. But possibly what gives me the most pleasure is the opportunity to pass that passion on to others through teaching!
