Russell Joslin & Sarah McCaig (UK) / Dan Donald (FIN)
‘…living proof of how fresh, vigorous and abrasive an acoustic songwriter can and should be in the 21st Century.’ – BBC 6 Music
In ihrer Schönheit, in ihrer Kargheit. Russell Joslin fühlt das Leben. In all seiner Schwierigkeit. Und teilt dies. Schön ist das. Momentan tourt er mit Sarah McCaig (AUS).
Russell Joslin brings the tradition of the folk singer-songwriter into the 21st century with a new stridency; representing the new breed of socially engaged wordsmiths with the DIY ethics of punk and the musical elements of folk. Currently touring accompanied by the darkened vocals of Australian soulmate Sarah McCaig, forming a haunting and turbulent live duet – ‘the musical charge they generated together was truly electrifying’ – Musicboxfolk.com
‘Explosive, hard hitting folk … a much needed gust of fresh air into the British folk scene.’ – Subba-cultcha.com
Dan Donald is a Folksinger from the white plains of Finland. At the age of 20 he left the Finnish Army and made his way to Berlin by picking his guitar, blowing his harmonica and singing his heart out. With these in one hand and a unique humour in another, Dan takes from the famed and history-filled sources of Folk music to express what he lives and feels in an era which seems to have so much to tell, and be told. His latest single 'Excuse Me My Friend' is out now on Spotify, iTunes or wherever you get your music from. In the spring of 2018 he'll be releasing more singles before releasing his debut full-length album in May. He'll be playing at a bunch of venues and cozy bars around his adopted city of Berlin this spring so check out the dates on his Facebook.
