Thursday, April 26th Southern High transforms once again into an art gallery for the largest student exhibition in the State of Maryland, and always 100% FREE TO THE PUBLIC! This will be Southern’s 21st annual ArtQuest, and one in which Michael Bell, founder and sponsor, will once again dole out over $2,500 in over 60 different categories, recognizing students K - 12 from the Southern Elementary and Middle feeder schools to the ROCK STARS at Southern High! There will also be a National Art Honor Society Induction Ceremony for Mr. Bell's NAHS (10-12th graders) and Ms. Bergh's 9th grade NJAHS (or Ninja's as we like to refer to them!) All NAHS members are required to help set up ArtQuest and also stay after and break down the show.

Each and every student who participates in ArtQuest leaves their mark on Southern High’s rich history and contributes toward its great legacy for the next generation of great artists yet to come.
Mr. Bell, Art Department Chair, was just recognized this past July in the USA Today as being one of the most highly regarded art educators in America, and this fall he nominated Mrs. Kramer for 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year. She's currently a TOP 5 FINALIST so root her on everyone! We will know the outcome the night before ArtQuest. Also new to Southern's art department is Anne Cremeans, in addition to Emily Ragan and Mary Kate Bergh. Come meet these outstanding teachers and rally around our incredible student artists!
Doors open at 6:30pm. Always 100% FREE TO THE PUBLIC!
“I still believe that financial awards to honor students who do exceptional work is an integral part of helping you understand the value of your work, which is why I hope that ArtQuest's support over the years has helped you invest in your creativity.” Congratulations on another successful show! - Kathy Kahre-Samuels, President & National Sponsor, ArtQuest, Inc., St. Louis, MO
