Acclaimed jazz pianist vocalist Kelly Green will present her trio, featuring incredible musicians Alex Tremblay on upright bass and Evan Hyde on drums. Currently based in New York City they hold down several weekly residencies and travel the world having played in prestigious clubs including the Jazz Standard, Smalls Jazz Club, and Minton's Playhouse. Beyond New York City, they have played all over the world traveling to San Francisco and Columbia, South America among other places.
Kelly Green and Alex Tremblay have been playing soulful, engaging and energetic jazz since 2015. They started out in New York City where they organized two weekly jam sessions and played in various bands around the city. Evan Hyde join the duo in 2016 and completed the trio’s swingin’ sound. The award winning musicians have a special connection, which allows them to create a specific sound, language and vibe. They enjoy playing arrangements of jazz standards and original music.
The trio spent time cultivating a sound as a unit and have built all the arrangements together. When playing on stage, it feels like they are speaking a special language through their music. The passion oozes through the amps and they appeal to a diverse audience. There is room for the music to change and grow as the ensemble continues to build its repertoire and audience; each performance is unique, highly interactive, and improvised.
They will play an interactive, tightly arranged, and exciting set of material from the great American songbook and jazz classics including Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington and Mulgrew Miller as well as original compositions by Kelly Green from her recently released debut album "Life Rearranged".
