This class is the final class in a series of three Herbal Medicine-Making classes taught by herbalist Hannah Stewart through the Appalachian Ohio School of Herbal Medicine.
Hannah has five years of herbal experience, including an apprenticeship with Lauren Genter of Ancient Roots Botanicals, years of intensive self-study, and her current apprenticeship with clinical herbalist Caty Crabb of Wildfire Herbs and the Appalachian Ohio School of Herbal Medicine.
Each Medicine-Making class will be a three-hour hands-on workshop in the performance space of ARTS/West in Athens, OH. You will leave with a valuable handout, an herbal remedy of your own crafting to enjoy at home, and the confidence to make more products on your own.
HERBAL TOPICALS will be a thorough exploration of herb-infused products that you apply to the skin for moisture, protection, and healing. In this class, Hannah will demonstrate and explain the process of making:
-powerful herb-infused oils
-infused oils using the intermediary solvent extraction method
-healing herbal oil and beeswax salves
-nourishing herbal lip balms
-herbal lotions and creams
Workshop attendees will participate in a DIY Massage Oil Station, where they will get to choose from an assortment of ingredients to blend their own luxurious oil to enjoy at home!
