Where is the FORT in Fort Lauderdale? On Saturday it will be made of discarded election signs from the recent election in Fort Lauderdale, and on display at FAT Village Art Walk.
Created by Robin Haines Merrill, in frustration that these signs end up in the landfill and aren't recyclable. Robin decided to use the signs like building blocks and create a fort, like she did often as a child.
The FORT will be a chill place where those who just finished a hard campaign, can relax on a lounge chair and be inspired, before taking on the next steps as elected officials. Whether you won, lost, or worked hard during the campaign, you are invited inside the FORT to be recharged for the future challenges. Gaze up at the historic wooden ceilings of the warehouses next to the railroad tracks downtown Fort Lauderdale and be invigorated for the journey ahead.
