Thai Bodywork is an ancient healing art, said to have originated before the time of the Buddha. Often called the “lazy man's yoga”, the receiver is passive and the practitioner stretches and compresses their body. When offering Thai massage we draw from thousands of years of healing, and incorporate elements of acupressure, massage, and deep muscle work through bodyweight mechanics. In this Thai Bodywork introductory workshop, we will cultivate unconditional loving kindness (known as metta) to bring balance, trust, and connection to both giver and receiver.
We will use the tools of receptivity, gravity, and sensitivity as you are guided through physical techniques that will allow you to practice both roles with ease and confidence. You can expect to feel restored and more connected to yourself and others when you leave!
*We will cover some handpicked gems from Thai Bodywork in this 2-hour workshop, leaving you with knowledge of a mini-sequence you can practice on your friends or loved ones.
*Dress in loose clothing and bring layers (givers will get warm, and receivers will get cool!)
*All levels welcome, no partner and no experience necessary!
