Dr Gananath Dasanayake, a well-known vocalist and saxophonist, will pay a tribute to Jazz in his talk at Atelier Kandy, on 10th March 2018. Titled ‘ALL that Jazz’, Gananath will talk about his own renditions as well as swing music of, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Duke Ellington, Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster, Stan Getz and many of the musicians of yesteryear such as Dean Martin, Sammy Davies Jr. and Frank Sinatra.

Gananath does most of the favourite jazz standards on sax and vocals and some pop numbers in his own jazzy groove. He leads the popular Jazz outfit “En Route” as the Saxophonist cum Vocalist. The Group performed to the fans of American popular music of the early and mid 20th century, live in concert, producing “The Great American Song Book’. The band also produced the much-acclaimed Tribute to Sinatra- celebrating 100 years of Frank Sinatra, in December 2015.

Gananath Dasanayaka, a medical doctor by profession, was adjudged the Most
Outstanding Solo Artiste of TNL Onstage with his jazzed up cover version of Inner Circle’s “Sweat” and Elvis’ “Blue Suede Shoes”. He is a frequent performer at Jazz Unlimited and at many other concerts.
