We are thrilled to announce the online webinar 'Diagnosing and Managing Iron Deficiency Anaemia in Pregnancy', presented by Dr Elle Knight.
Dr Elle Knight graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2010. Since then, she has become a familiar face at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and more recently at the Women's and Children's Hospital in South Australia, where she currently works as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar.
Elle's passion for education and clinical improvement projects lead to her becoming involved in a joint venture with the Australian Red Cross, which aimed to reduce red blood cell transfusion at delivery by managing anaemia during pregnancy.
Join Elle and our Education Unit as they refresher your understanding of anaemia, including normal physiology, signs and symptoms, and the most common cause for pregnancy iron deficiency anaemia. We'll also explore the following:
ordering routine blood tests for anaemia and iron deficiency in pregnancy,
interpreting routine blood tests for anaemia and iron deficiency in pregnancy,
how to manage iron deficiency and anaemia in pregnancy, and
appropriate iron prescribing, including oral iron preperations and when to organise an IV iron infusion.
Registrations close at 10:00am AEDT on the 19th of April 2018. Don't forget ACM members receive free access to all live and recorded webinars as part of our new member benefits offers!
