Advocating for your child in the education system can feel overwhelming. Families are often left on their own to navigate issues like soft suspensions and school exclusions. It can leave parents feeling like there is a struggle, barrier, and fight at every corner. Added to that struggle, often, teachers, principals or even supervisory staff do not understand Special Education Regulations. Advocacy efforts can help to connect educators with the legislation yet this can be both advantageous and difficult for parents. This workshop is designed to support parents in asserting rights, allowing parents to be heard in a respectful and positive manner.
This workshop is the second part of a three-step workshop.
