Caring for your back means developing healthy postural and movement habits and practicing postures and exercises that can build the muscle strength that will give your spine the support it needs. As we move through our day, our focus is usually outward into the world. As a result, we are unaware of mechanical and repetitive nature of our actions.
Join Kathleen for a workshop focused on the hips, low back and sacrum. She will be bringing awareness to the pelvic area of your body, the “meeting” place, which supports the legs, spine, abdomen and low back. The workshop will focus on strengthening the abdomen (core), hip flexors and releasing low back tension. We will review healthy spinal alignment and pelvic movement in forward folds and back bends and take time to explore Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Setu Bandha Sarvangasana (Bridge Pose), among others.
