Kia Ora! Want to learn more about organics, off grid living, seed saving, growing fruit trees and distilling plants. Then come along to the Awaawaroa Bay Eco Village open day. This years open day is being held in support of the first National Organic Week.
Those attending will receive a general overview/history about eco villages and in particular the history of our village. You'll have the choice of four workshops/tours to participate in: the workshops are in seed saving and alembics (distilling plants) and the tours are of an eco village home (a chance to see solar systems, composting toilets, earth brick construction, gardens etc. in action) and a tour of the Gulf Trees Nursery where people will here about growing fruit trees organically. There's a morning tea (supplied by the village) and a shared lunch. Those attending are encouraged to bring food to share for lunch. We encourage people to car pool, cycle out, hitch or walk out for the day.
