Dr Ashwini MJ, MS (Ayu) is a renowned Ayurveda Practitioner, teacher and researcher who is specialized in ophthalmology, ENT, dental and haircare of Ayurveda discipline with experience of over 20 years. At present, she holds the position of Professor and Head, Deptartment of Shalakya Tantra and Dean (Administration) at a prestigious institution, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Hassan, India.

She is an international invited speaker at various conferences and workshop on Shalakya Tantra. She is a life member of The Association ofShalaki-India (TAS). She is an editorial and review board member of AYUSH Journal - RGUHS. She has to her credit 40 scientific articles in peer review journals. She is invited as resource person of preventive ophthalmology, ENT, dentistry and hair care in TV shows, radio and writes in newspapers and social magazines. She is well known to Shalakya fraternity by her current approach to preventive ophthalmology.

She is a recipient of various academic as well as professional awards like Best Clinician Award from 2007 to 2016, Outstanding Performance Award – Bhishak- 2012 ofSDMCAH and Best Doctor Award by Jain Mahila Samaj on the occasion of world women’s day in 2012. She has expertise in Ayurvedic eye care in different retinal diseases, neurological eye diseases, headache, hair care and hearing disorders.

She is known for her outstanding performance and skill in teaching,practicing and researching various retinal and neurological eye diseases. She has professional experience in conducting workshops, as an orator in scientific session as well as chairperson of the different themes of scientific sessions. Thousands of people are benefited by her soothing treatment in various eye and ENT disorders. She has worked on various eye ailments such as dry eye disease, cataract, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, cystoid macular oedema, ARMD, neurological eye diseases, sensorineural deafness, migraine, voice disorders and many more challenging eye, ENT and hair problems. She is a recognized PG and PhD guide at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Karnataka, Bangalore.
