Join Babel Babies at Babel Bar, Cheltenham, for our third Fri-yay Fiesta! The first two were fantastique, and we are super excited about round three.
We think the best part about learning languages is going abroad and enjoying the food together and socialising in another language. So this April we are teaming up with Babel in Cheltenham to offer families a chance to relax, enjoy lunch with their friends, and practise a bit of Spanish in a sociable setting.
The event will begin with a Babel Babies multilingual music family session at 11am, with songs and stories in Spanish aimed at parents with babies and children from birth to school age. We will meet Croc Monsieur, our crocodile mascot, and find out where Spain is, and what an incredible journey the Spanish language has had around the world.
At 11.45am we will all sit down and eat lunch together around a long table. Imagine a convivial family gathering, with sharing platters of manchego, jamón, bread and olives, and everyone chatting about languages and getting into the Spanish holiday spirit. We will be on hand to help brush up your Spanish over lunch so that next time you are in Spain, or Mexico, or Panama, you will know just how to order your tapas and ask for a high chair.
The ticket will include the Babel Babies session and the sharing lunch. Any extras can be ordered and paid for on the day. Come early and enjoy coffee and delicious cakes or pastries (Babel opens at 9am on Fridays) and stay longer for the 'sobremesa' - our favourite Spanish word that means the bit after a meal where you all hang out and keep talking and soaking up the atmosphere. This is what Fridays should be about!
Tickets will go on sale next week, 20:00 on Tuesday 3rd April, so keep an eye on this event page for announcements and the ticket link. Places are strictly limited so that we can enjoy a really good conversation together, and the first two events sold out in under four hours!
