If you don’t know who Loretta Lynn is, you ain’t from ‘round these parts...Loretta Lynn is an American country music singer-songwriter with multiple gold albums in a career spanning almost 60 years. She is famous for hits such as "You Ain't Woman Enough", "Don't Come Home A' Drinkin'", "One's on the Way", "Fist City", and "Coal Miner's Daughter" along with the 1980 biographical film also titled Coal Miner’s Daughter.

We will meet at 6:15am at Dunham’s parking lot in Scottsboro. Everyone must sign a liability waiver once we get on the bus. Everyone must be 19 years old or with someone 20 years old or older. We will depart by 6:30am. You can take a nap or watch the movie “Coal Miner’s Daughter” during our morning drive to the ranch. We will stop for a mid-morning coffee break, snack and stretch. We should arrive at the ranch by 10am.

Along the Tennessee River in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee is a beautiful spot, the Loretta Lynn Ranch. Loretta saw the property when she and husband Doolittle Lynn were out “courting”. It was love at first site and the Lynn’s purchased the entire town of Hurricane Mills including a grist mill and post office! The tours we will take on this trip are a walk through her life.

We will enjoy a guided tour of the following places at the ranch:

• Plantation Mansion - Loretta Lynn's home as seen in the Coal Miners Daughter movie. The Travel Channel aired a special on the Haunted Plantation in October of 2003. The woman in white is Beula Anderson who, after the death of her newborn son, died twelve days later from grief. Sightings of her crying and wringing her hands have been witnessed at the Plantation Home and Anderson Cemetery. After moving to Hurricane Mills in 1966, the Lynn Family heard stories of the Plantation Home being haunted. The Lynn’s, visitors and employees have experienced strange occurrences throughout the years. A woman dressed in white and two Civil War Soldiers have been seen on many occasions. Strange sounds and happenings are commonplace in the home.
• Replica of Loretta’s Childhood Butcher Holler Home - Her real childhood home is in Butcher Hollow, part of Johnson County Kentucky. The replica of her Butcher Holler home, which we will tour, was used for the filming of the Coal Miner’s Daughter movie.
• Replica Coal Mine - Experience what it felt like to work in a coal mine as we step back in time and walk through the a replica. This is a must see do.
• The Coal Miners Daughter Museum - Experience the Legend of Loretta Lynn in her new 18,000 square foot Museum located on her Ranch and Home in Hurricane Mills, TN. Loretta has amassed a huge collection of memorabilia and awards from her career as well as mementos from her many beloved friends in the World of Entertainment.

After the morning tours we will enjoy a country style buffet lunch at the famous Loretta Lynn’s Kitchen. You are sure to leave stuffed! Lunch will be around 1pm. After lunch, you will get to explore the ranch on your own to take pictures, shop and visit the Frontier Homestead, Grist Mill Museum, Native American Artifact Museum, and Loretta’s Fan & Doll Museum at no additional charge!
