You're invited to St. Clair River (Area of Concern) Science Symposium hosted by Walpole Island and Aamjiwnaang First Nation.

The symposium is held at the Baldoon Golf Club House, dinner and transportation is provided. Please call Courtney or Christine at the Band Office (519) 336-8410 to sign up.

Some topics on agenda:
• Fish Health – continuing from last year, share results of the body burdens and health end points assessed and how this will inform BUI #3 in terms of no adverse effects on growth or reproduction.
• Fish Diversity and Habitats in the Walpole Island Delta (2015 field work) – What did the comprehensive fish community and habitat surveys reveal?
• Marsh bird monitoring – what has a decade of marsh bird monitoring revealed about diversity and abundance? And how important are the wetlands to these birds? Use/value of birds and amphibians
• Waterfowl surveys results – what have the decades of waterfowl surveys revealed about diversity and abundance within the St. Clair River? What has changed and why?
• Habitat Restoration and creation
- Swan Lake Marsh Restoration (WIFN) and Mitchell’s Bay Coastal Wetlands
- Near shore fish habitat along Aamjiwnaang’s Shoreline
