The plan is to do something a bit different and shore dive at various locations around Weymouth. Possibilities are:
• Chesil Cove – scenic
• Chesil Beach – wreck of the Royal Adelaide
• Chesil Beach – wreck of a landing craft
• Ringstead Bay – scenic (possible night dive)
• Lulworth Cove – scenic
• Studland Bay – scenic with possibility of seahorses! (may be best to snorkel)
• Swanage Pier – sheltered and scenic under wooden pier
There is space for up to 8 divers from Ocean Diver upwards.
I have reserved two static caravans at the idyllic Creek Caravan Site, Ringstead Bay, Dorset. The small grass site is right on the beach with easy access for swimming and diving off rocks. Hopefully we can do a night dive at Ringstead. One caravan comes with a small boat which is great for mackerel fishing! Also, there is a superb walk along the Coast Path to the Smugglers Inn at Osmington Mills.
As there is no boat the weekend will be very cost effective. The price of the accommodation is to be confirmed but is likely to be about £25 per person. In addition there will be the usual air fills and perhaps car parking fees at dive locations.
