On Friday the 27th of April the Barbican Theatre will be hosting the debut EP launch of Alternative Folk Musician Jamie Yost. The singer songwriter will be accompanied by his 5 piece backing band with support from an array of local talent. On the night expect four of Plymouth's finest artists, soulful vocals from Roz Birch. Folk, blues and rock from the harmonic duo Calvin Thomas & Jack Cookson. Ambience and heart melting vocals from the Olly Parker Trio and finally a truly powerful yet intimate performance from Jamie Yost and his band.

Jamie Yost: Yost is an alternative folk, singer-songwriter, based in the southwest. His sound has been compared to artists such as Ben Howard, Noah Gundersen and Daughter. The self-taught musician has opened for Brit Award Nominee Beth Rowley, Wildwood Kin, Marc O’Reilly and Haunt The Woods.
Finally Yost is releasing his anticipated debut E.P ‘Aurora’ on 20th April and to promote this occasion the full band will be performing live at Plymouth's very own ‘Barbican Theatre’ showcasing the entirety of the EP and more on 27th April.
The backing band includes an array of talented musicians including Dan Johnson (Drums); Toby Gisborne (Bass); Eva Axelby (Violin); Aimee Dorel (Keys) and Matthew Gordon Price (Lead Guitar).

Olly Parker: The Olly Parker Trio are here in their first ever performance. The three piece is comprised of Fergus Tanner (ambient guitar), Joss Etty (Cello) and of course the heart melting vocals of Olly Parker (Guitar/Vocals). Their sound has been compared to such musicians as Passenger, Damien Rice and James Bay.

Calvin Thomas & Jack Cookson: Masters of planned spontaneity, Calvin and Jack will be supporting tonight together as a duo. Though both solo singer-songwriters in their own right, the two collaborate on each other’s songs with brotherhood brilliance shining through every chord. Expect folk, country, blues and rock, as well as it can be done, on 2 acoustic guitars, harmonicas and 2 white 20 something's larynx.

Rosamond Birch: With a voice full of soul, Roz Birch will be treating you to an intimate acoustic performance of tracks from her recently released EP ‘Precious Gifts’.
